Introduction

Theme: Our theme this year was inspired by our school. Each year they have a verse that drives them throughout the year and this year it was the Fruits of the Spirit. So we decided to form the Fruits of the Spirit around the love letters written to us by the apostles.

The Devotions: Each of the devotions were written by members and loved ones of St. John’s. This booklet has a long tradition in our congregation and we are excited to carry on the tradition this year.

Each day during Lent you will be reading through one "Love Letter" of the New Testament Epistles. Through the days of Lent you will experience a complete reading of four different letters--one from John, James, Peter and Paul. Everyday you are given a context to read first, so get out those Bibles, and then a verse to focus on. It is the focus verse that the devotional writer used for inspiration. Then read the devotion and close in prayer.

Meet! Experience! Live!: You will notice this at the top of every page and as a theme throughout many of the devotions. Members of St. John’s know that this is our mission statement. It is our goal that every person who comes in contact with us will...

Meet Jesus!
Experience the Support of a Church!
Live as Disciples!

Through our Lenten Devotional we hope to support you in your walk with Christ. That you might grow in faith and knowledge and that you might get to know the members at St. John’s in a more personal way.

The Pictures: One of the most special things about our Devotional Booklet are the pictures that appear on selected days of the devotional journey. They were drawn for us by our Sunday School students and they depict different fruits of the spirit! They are a wonderful insight into the faith of a child!

May God bless you in your journey
this Lenten Season!
