Every Sunday morning we offer several classes for adult study and conversation around the word of God during our educational hour (9:25am to 10:25am), where there are opportunities for the whole family to gather in groups for study, prayer and encouragement. Each is structured so that newcomers/visitors may join or try them out at any time in the cycle of the class curriculum.
We arrange our classes in a variety of settings and disciplines of study to help offer variety and connect with personal needs. There are four basic approaches to Christian studies (Biblical, Topical, Historical, Missional). While they all intersect around the living and active connections with the word of God, each discipline helps prepare us for living our faith in different ways.
Sunday Morning Adult Bible Class
Currently our adult education hour topic is
Empowered by Grace
Bible Study Leader: Pastor Ben
Location: Heritage Room 113
What if you could call God to ask Him how He saw your effort in fulfilling the purpose for which He created you? What kind of marks would He give you for being His witness, or how you were doing in your service to others, or how you were doing in your giving? What kind of response would you expect to hear? Would God see you as a person relying on the Holy Spirit to do His will or working in your own strength and giving yourself credit for your success? Unfortunately, we all fall well short of God’s standards, but because of what Christ did for us at the cross and empty tomb, we are forgiven for all the times we have failed to honor God with our behavior and efforts to please Him. By His grace He molds and transforms us into God-pleasing people who seek to please Him. In Christ we can do God’s work well.
Sunday School Classes begin at 9:25am, are for Preschool-8th Grade, and run from September through May. We use the Cross Explorations curriculum from Concordia Publishing House. Click here to learn more about Cross Explorations.
Youth Sunday Morning Bible Study
Currently the youth are studying “One-Way Love”, High School Bible Study. This Bible Study calls the Church to abandon our play-it-safe religion, and to embrace God’s unflinching grace. Each 10-15 minute video includes teaching, as well as interviews with individuals who have experienced this freedom. Discussion guide and questions follow each video. Come and grow in your faith as you dig deep into God’s Word and (re)discover God’s grace for you in Jesus Christ! It is being taught by Pastor and Mrs. Roberts and is held in the youth room. It lasts 6 weeks: Feb. 11, 18, 25, Mar. 4, 11, 18. It runs from 9:25am – 10:25am.
Parenting Bible Study: “Spiritual Parenting”
This is a Biblically based practical training program designed to equip parents to touch the hearts of their children. Bring your younger children to play in the Nursery while you connect with other parents. For parents of children ages two through eighteen. It takes place in the nursery (classroom 101) at 9:25am.
