St John's is committed to a vigorous response to the Haitian crisis. Haiti is one of the poorest places on the earth—in economics, in justice and in spirit. It is also a place that the Lutheran community has been particularly engaged in, especially in recent years. It is a place most needy of the hope and healing.
How do we address some an enormous tragedy so far away? We Live as Disciples. Led by the God's and prayer, we believe the Spirit of God is calling us specifically to live out our mission in response to this crisis now and in the future by being...
Disciples who pray.
Disciples who give offerings.
Disciples who send mercy workers in the name of Jesus.
Disciples who remember beyond the initial attention of media to long term human need.
St. John’s, its partners and friends are blessed with resourceful and influential people who literally can change the world. We believe God is calling us to Live as Disciples in response to this crisis. Though the earth and all its people quake, God is holding our foundation and hope firm.
