The Go-the-Distance
Urban Bicycle Tour

In July, we begin the journey of cultivating health and wellness with Pastor Geis’ bicycle tour. In the summer of 2007, he started Go-the-Distance with a 532 mile bike ride crossing Illinois. This year, his tour focuses on the need for Christian ministry in Great Lakes urban areas. This 650 mile bike ride will begin (July 10) in suburban Hales Corners, WI where a courageous Lutheran congregation has partnered with two urban ministries (Milwaukee and Racine) to seed, cultivate, bear fruit and harvest in the Kingdom of God. From Milwaukee the trip will take Pastor Geis through Chicago, Gary, Detroit and Cleveland ending on July 18. This tour is designed to heighten our awareness of ministry needs in urban areas as well as to see how suburban ministries, such as ours, are working to connect with needs of our cities.
